My first real update on my new site

Some people who have been avid readers of my old blog on livejournal  (which i had for 6 or 7 years now) might notice a huge difference in my posting style.  This wont be so much about my personal life as it will be about my artistic and gardening life. I wont be offended if i dont have many readers any more as this should be my expression free of others expectations are.

Life has been pretty wonderful lately. I have been enjoying school and after this semester I start my new job at the hospital. I am really trying for a VA hospital that is somewhat local. I am more than excited about this new opportunity for Daniel and me.

Daniel and I are going on our 6th year of being together of which 5 we have been married. I would love to say that it’s been easy but then again I don’t want to start off lying. The sweet ain’t as sweet without the sour. That’s our motto. However, I am very happy and I love that man like no other.

We just got back from a week in Las Vegas. I always look forward to visiting the city but when I get there I realize how much I dislike it. It is extremely expensive, all you can do is drink and gamble and drink even more, and all the shows are extremely expensive. I think its fun for a night if you have extra money to throw away but after a couple days it just gets old. Not too mention the plethora of cigarette smoke lingering in the air. We did have a lot of fun but I am soooo happy to be home!

I have a shit load of pictures I need to upload to my gallery to share with the world. I have a lot of new pieces I want to share. I have recently just started playing around with clay and even though I haven’t done a lot with it the things I have created are beautiful and so much fun for me. I have created thrown pieces, hand-built sculptures, and a shit load of coasters and ornaments. I have low fired, high fired, and raku fired my pieces.

I recently subscribed to a million RSS feeds of fellow artist to help inspire me to be even more creative. I found an international ornament exchange and I signed up twice because I simply LOVE this idea! My pieces are circular clay that I let bone dry and then used Duncan underglaze and underglaze pens to draw designs on to them. I will fire then to bisque and then either dip in a clear glaze or a translucent green celadon glaze to give the holiday spirit to them. Either way I am excited to share. I did find it odd that I was the only guy to sign up at least out of the 20 people I am paired with.

My garden is doing amazing as well. My vertical garden has now completely filled in while I was in Vegas. I was welcomed home by beautiful passion flowers that haven’t bloomed in months. My plumeria’s are starting to enter hibernation, but my amaryllis are about ready to bloom so I am okay with that. I think its best to just show my garden through pictures so enough talking about them.

If you did read this please leave me a comment so I know there are people out there reading this :o ) it makes me feel good lol

xoxo

    I Stumbled across your page.

When did you start the blog, and when did you start with Daniel – two big commitments?

Hi Allan! How are you doing? Thank you for the comment!

Daniel and I met my 2nd day out here in California and we have been together now for almost 6 years. I had a blog on livejournal for about 7 years now but this website is fairly new. I used it for photo hosting but I want to have everything all in the same place.

    Tell me something about you!
